| Claim | An arguable statement used as a primary point to support or prove an argument |
| Central Idea | It is the point the author wants you to remember most |
| Support Details | Clarify, explain, describe, expand and illustrate the central (main) idea |
| Objective Summary | Is the main points of a text without your feelings or opinions |
| Cite | You are quoting it, mentioning a word or phrase from a text and using it as support or proof |
| Textual Evidence | Core of argument and analysis, using the words the author wrote to support how you know something |
| Explicit | Clearly stated and in detail |
| Inference | Draw a conclusion based on evidence |
| Tone | Author's attitude towards the work's central idea or subject |
| Text Features | Help us identify and remember the big ideas and topics in our reading, support the information the author presents in the text |
| Point of View | Is the perspective from which the text is conveyed |
