Claim An arguable statement used as a primary point to support or prove an argument
Central Idea It is the point the author wants you to remember most
Support Details Clarify, explain, describe, expand and illustrate the central (main) idea
Objective Summary Is the main points of a text without your feelings or opinions
Cite You are quoting it, mentioning a word or phrase from a text and using it as support or proof
Textual Evidence Core of argument and analysis, using the words the author wrote to support how you know something
Explicit Clearly stated and in detail
Inference Draw a conclusion based on evidence
Tone Author's attitude towards the work's central idea or subject
Text Features Help us identify and remember the big ideas and topics in our reading, support the information the author presents in the text
Point of View Is the perspective from which the text is conveyed
