| Term | Definition |

| X-Intercept | The point where the function crosses the x-axis. |
| Y-intercept | The point where the function crosses the y-axix. |
| Linear Equation | An equation that models a linear function. |
| Linear Parent Function | f(x) = x |
| Slope Intercept Form | An equation of the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. |
| Axis of Symmetry | The fold or line that divides the parabola into two matching halves. |
| Quadratic Function | A function that can be written in the form y = ax2 + bx + c, where a ≠ 0 |
| Quadratic Parent Function | The simplest quadratic function f(x) = x2 or y = x2 |
