Quadratic and Linear Attributes TEK 7A & 3C

TermDefinition
X-Intercept The point where the function crosses the x-axis.
Y-intercept The point where the function crosses the y-axix.
Linear Equation An equation that models a linear function.
Linear Parent Function f(x) = x
Slope Intercept Form An equation of the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
Axis of Symmetry The fold or line that divides the parabola into two matching halves.
Quadratic Function A function that can be written in the form y = ax2 + bx + c, where a ≠ 0
Quadratic Parent Function The simplest quadratic function f(x) = x2 or y = x2
