| antecedent | the prefix ante means "before". An antecedent "goes before" something else. |
| concede | The root, ced, means "to grant or give way". To concede means to allow to have or to acknowledge as being true. |

| procedure | a series of steps used to go forward with an action |
| proceedings | series of activities that go forward during an event or legal trial |
| secede | to withdraw from an organization- to move apart or "go away" from it |
| succession | something that goes after or later in time |
| proactive | going forward and causing something to happen rather than reacting after it happens |
| procrastinate | to let a task be for tomorrow, or to delay |
| project (pro jekt') | The word part ject comes from a Latin word meaning "to throw". To project means "to throw or send forward". |
