SOLVE f(x)=-6x Solve for y values using some x values (0,1,2) -ex: if x=-2, then y=12 [(-6)(-2)] Proceed to plot these points on a graph as a linear function SOLUTION (0,0) (1,-6) (2,-12)
SOLVE slope=-2, through (-3,5) use the equation y-y1=m(x-x1) [m=slope] y-5=-2(x+3) distribute y-5=-2x-6 get y on one side SOLUTION f(x)=-2x-1
If a graph is a line, and it passes the vertical line test, then it is safe to say that it is a _______ _______ Linear Function
What is the equation for finding slope when given 2 points on a graph? m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) When given 2 points -ex: (x1,y1) (x2,y2)
SOLVE for slope [m] (-4,-3) (-6,-6) m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) m=(-6+3)/(-6+4) SOLUTION m=-1/2
