| Term | Definition |

| Area | the size a surface takes up- measured in square units. |
| Volume | the amount of space occupied by a 3D object- measured in cubic units. |
| Net | flat shape which can be folded up into a 3D solid. |
| Surface Area | total area of the surface of a 3D object- measured in square units. |
| Vertex | a point where two or more rays of an angle meet, to adjacent sides of polygon meet, or the edges. |
| Triangular pyramid | a solid shape with a polygon as a base and triangular faces that appear to a point (vertex or apex) |
| Triangular prism | a polygon a prism with two identical, triangular bases. |
| Coordinate plane | a plane containing perpendicular (y and x) interesting at a point called the origin- position is denoted using pairs. |
| Parallelogram | a quadrilateral with opposite sides that are parallel and of equal length, and opposite angles that are equal. |
| Decomposition | a method of subtraction. |
| Rhombus | parallelogram with four equal sides and equal positive angles. |
| Quadrilateral | polygon with four sides. |
| Rectangular pyramid | a solid shape with a rectangle as a base triangular faces that appear at a point. |
