Unit 4&6 Fractions

Fractions

composite number a number with more than two factors
denominator the bottom number in a fraction, which shows into how many equal parts the whole is divided
equivalent fractions two or more different fractions that represent the same quantity
factor a whole number that divides evenly into another number
fractions an expression indicating the quotient (the result of dividing) of two numbers
numerator the top number in a fraction, which shows the number of equal parts counted or taken
prime number a number with exactly two different factors—itself and one
