Polygons
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Acute triangle | Triangle where all angles are acute (less than 90 degrees) |
| Decagon | Polygon with ten sides and ten angles |
| Equilateral triangle | Triangle where all 3 sides and all 3 angles are the same size |
| Heptagon | Polygon with seven sides and seven angles |
| Hexagon | Polygon with six sides and six angles |
| Isosceles triangle | Triangle where 2 sides and 2 angles are the same size |
| Nonagon | Polygon with nine sides and nine angles |
| Obtuse triangle | Triangle where one angle is obtuse (greater than 90 degrees). The other two are acute |
| Octagon | Polygon with eight sides and eight angles |
| Parallelogram | A quadrilateral where opposite sides are parallel and congruent |
| Pentagon | Polygon with five sides and five angles |
| Quadrilateral | a polygon with four sides and 4 angles |
| Rectangle | A quadrilateral that is a parallelogram and has four right angles and sides that are perpendicular |
| Regular Polygon | Polygon with all sides and all angles congruent |
| Rhombus | a quadrilateral that is a parallelogram and has 4 congruent sides |
| Right triangle | Triangle where one angle is a right angle (90 degrees). The other two are acute. |
| Scalene triangle | Triangle where no sides and no angles are the same size |
| Square | a quadrilateral that is a parallelogram a rectangle and a rhombus |
| Trapezoid | A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides |
