| Poverty Line | Method used to count poor people, it considers what a family must need to maintain a standard of living. |

| Progressive tax | A tax where the government takes a larger percent of the income from the rich rather than the poor. |
| Proportional tax | A tax where the government taxes the same flat percent regarding your income. |
