What are context clues? A context clue is a word or group of words that tell the meaning of an unfamiliar word.
What are similes? A simile uses like or as to compare two things.
What are metaphors? A metaphor compares two things by actually calling one thing something else.
What are multiple meaning words? Are words with more than one meaning.

What is a primary source? Primary sources are first-hand, eyewitness accounts.
What is a secondary source? Secondary sources are sources that get their facts from doing research.
What is persuasion in text? Persuasion occurs when someone tries to present facts in a way that will get others to accept or change an opinion on a specific topic.
What is propaganda in text? Propaganda differs from persuasion because it does not claim to be based on facts or truth. It will mislead the reader to accomplish its goal.
What is faulty reasoning? Faulty reasoning occurs when someone draws a conclusion based on incorrect information.
What is misleading information? Misleading information is based on some elements of truth, but some opposing facts are hidden.
What are acknowledgements and where are they located in a book? Acknowledgements are to express gratitude to friends, family members, and associates who provided assistance in some way. Acknowledgements are located at the front of a book.
What are footnotes and where are they located on the page? Footnotes provide more information on about a word, phrase, or statement the author made. A footnote is placed at the bottom of the page.
What is a bibliography and where is it located? A bibliography provides details about all of the information sources an author used. They are listed in alphabetical order and are located at the end of a book.
What is a citation in a book? A citation gives immediate credit to a source of information.
What are endnotes? Endnotes provide information about other sources of information that the author found but did not use.
