Unit 1 Number Sense

Mean, Median, Mode

TermDefinition
Prime Number a number with exactly two different factors-itself and one
Composite Number a number with more than two factors
Factor a whole number that divides evenly into another number
Mode the value (or values) that appear most often in a set of data
Median the middle value of an ordered set of numerical data
Range the difference between the greatest and least values in a data set
Mean the sum of all the numbers in a data set divided by the number of data points. This can also be called the average.
