| Pentagon | A polygon with five sides |
| Hexagon | A polygon with six sides |
| Heptagon | A polygon with seven sides |
| Octagon | A polygon with eight sides |
| Nonagon | A polygon with nine sides |
| Decagon | A polygon with ten sides |
| Diagonal | A segment that connects two non-adjacent vertices of a polygon |
| Legs | The nonparallel sides of a trapezoid |
| Bases | The parallel sides of a trapezoid |
| Trapezoid | A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides |
| Vertex | The point where two sides of a polygon meet |
| Rectangle | A parallelogram with four right angles |
| Rhombus | A parallelogram with four congruent sides |
| Square | A polygon that is both a rhombus and a rectangle |
| Isosceles Trapezoid | A trapezoid with 2 congruent legs |
| Equilateral | A polygon with all congruent sides |
| Equiangular | A polygon with all congruent angles |
| Regular | A polygon with all congruent angles and sides |
| Concave | A polygon that is not convex; it appears to have a dent in it |
| Convex | A polygon where no line that contains a side of the polygon that passes through the interior of the polygon |
