| Earthquake | A sudden and violent shaking of the ground |
| Geological events | Natural disasters that cause lots of damage. |
| lithosphere | The rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle. |
| lithosphere plates | Are regions of Earth's crust and upper mantle that are fractured into plates that move across a deeper plasticine mantle. |
| magnetic field | A region around a magnetic material |
| mountain building | The geological processes, such as tectonic plate movement and volcanic activity, by which mountains are formed. |
| plate boundaries | A tectonic boundary where two plates are moving away from each other and new crust is forming from magma that rises to the Earth's surface between the two plates. |
| plates tectiocs | a theory explaining the structure of the earth's crust and many associated phenomena as resulting from the interaction of rigid lithospheric plates that move slowly over the underlying mantle. |
| poles | either of the two locations ( North Pole or South Pole ) on the surface of the earth (or of a celestial object) that are the northern and southern ends of the axis of rotation. |
| volcanic eruption | The sudden occurrence of a violent discharge of steam and volcanic material. |
