Force A Push or Pull
Newton The SI unit of the strength of force.
Net Force A combo of every force that acts on an object.
Unbalanced Forces Net Forces with different amounts of newtons acting on an object.
Balanced Forces Net Forces with equal amounts of newtons acting on an object.
Friction A force that two surfaces exert on each other when rubbed against one another.
Static Friction The friction that acts on objects that aren't moving.
Sliding Friction The friction created when two surfaces slide over each other.
Rolling Friction The friction created from a rolling object on a solid surface.
Fluid Friction The friction caused when a solid object passes through a liquid substance.
Gravity A force that pulls objects toward each other.
Mass The measure of the amount of matter in an object.
Weight The gravitational force exerted on a person or object at the surface of a planet.
Free Fall When only the force of gravity is acting on an object.
Air Resistance A upward force exerted on falling objects.
Projectile An object that is thrown.
Compression An elastic force that pushes matter together.
Tension An elastic force that stretches or pulls matter.
