expression | a math problem with no equal sign |
mean | the mathematical average of the data |
median | the middle number when data is arranged in numerical order |
mode | the number most repeated in a set of data |
nth term | refers to the position of a number in a sequence |
perimeter | the distance around a closed geometric figure |
proportional | the relationship between two ratios with a constant rate or ratio |
quadrant | the four regions created in a coordinate plane |
range | difference between the greatest and least pieces of data |
relationship | the connection between 2 or more sets of numbers |
rule | the expression that describes the numbers in a sequence or pattern |
sample space | the set of all possible outcomes of a probability experiment |
scale factor | a scale written as a ratio in simplest form |
similar | 2 or more figures that have proportional sides and congruent angles |
square root | a factor that when multiplied by itself equals that number |
supplementary | two angles whose sum is 180 degrees |
terms | each number in a sequence |
unit rate | a rate where the denominator is one unit |
volume | the number of cubic units needed to fill the space occupied by a solid |
x-axis | the horizontal axis in a coordinate plane and represents the independent variable |
y-axis | the vertical axis in a coordinate plane and represents the dependent variable |
area | the number of square units needed to cover a surface of a geometric figure |
