| Irony | When the reader knows something the characters don't know |
| Flashback | A scene or series of scenes showing events that happened in the past |
| Personification | Giving human characteristics to something nonhuman |
| Conflict | A struggle between two or more people, forces, or things |
| Accomplice | A person who helps another person do something wrong |
