TermDefinition
Alliteration The repetition of the same sounds or of the same kinds of sounds at the beginning of words (like Peter Piper Picked Peppers)
Stanza One of the divisions of a poem
Imagery The use of vivid or figurative language to represent objects, actions, or ideas.
Successor Someone who takes the place of someone else in a certain position
Plummeting Falling quickly and far
Irony When the reader knows something the characters don't know
Flashback A scene or series of scenes showing events that happened in the past
Personification Giving human characteristics to something nonhuman
Conflict A struggle between two or more people, forces, or things
Accomplice A person who helps another person do something wrong
