| Matter | Anything that has mass and ocupies space. |
| Element | A substance composed of a single kind of atom that cannot be broken down into other substances or chaimcal phyical means. |
| Pericodic Table | An organized table of all the know elements. |
| Atomic Number | The number of protons or electrons in an element. |
| Atomic Symbol | An abbravtion for the element name. |
| Atomic Mass | The mass of protons + neutron. |
| Coompound | A substance in which two or more elements are cheimcaly joined in a set radio. |
| Mixture | Two or more substances that are mixed together but not cheimecaly combined. |
| Atom | The smallist unit of an element that retains the propeites of the element. |
| Nucleus | The central core of an atom that contains the neutrons and protons. |
| Proton | Small postively charged partiacle in the nuclues of an atom. |
| Neutron | The uncharged particale in the nucles of an atom. |
| Electron | A tiny negitive charged high enegry particale around the nucleus of an atom. |
| Electron Shell | Fixed orbits or paths that electrons travel in around the nucles. |
| Molecule | Two or more atoms that are bounded together. |
| Chemical Bound | The force that holds two or more subtances together. |
