Key Terminology

Vector A quantity possessing both magnitude (length/size) and direction, represented by an arrow
Time A period or interval between events
Displacement The difference between the final and initial position of a point
Acceleration The rate of change of velocity of an object
Momentum The product of the mass and velocity of an object
Force Any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object
Pressure The force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed
Mass A property of a physical body which determines the strength of its mutual gravitational attraction to other bodies
Direction A line extending from a specific point toward a point of the compass
Magnitude The size of a mathematical object
Velocity The rate of change of an objects position relative to a fixed reference
