TermDefinition
Ratio Relationship where for every x units of one quantity, there are y units of another quantity
Terms The quantities x and y in a ratio are called this.
Proportion A mathematical statement that two ratios are equal
Rate A special type of ratio that compares quantities with unlike units of measure.
Unit Rate In a rate, when the comparison is to 1 unit.
Formula A rule that use different symbols to relate quantities.
Percent Special kind of ratio in which the first term is compared to 100.
Percent The number of hundredths that represents the part of the whole
