TermDefinition
divide To separate into equal groups, to find the number of groups or the number in each group.
division sentence A number sentence using numbers and the ➗
dividend A number that is being divided
divisor The number by which the dividend is being divided
fact family A group of related facts using the same numbers
inverse operations Operations that undo each other,like multiplication and division or addition and subtraction
partition The divide or break up.
quotient The answer to a division problem
related facts Basic facts using the same numbers
repeated subtraction subtraction of the same number over and over.
multiples the product of that number and any other number
decompose to break a number into different parts
Identity Property of Multiplication If you multiply a number by 1, the product is the same as the given number.
known fact a fact that you already know
Zero Property of Multiplication The property that states any number multiplied by zero is zero.
