If Iago knows about the customs of Italy, why would Shakespeare have Cassio tell Iago that kissing Emilia is only a courtesy? He may have told Cassio to tell Iago that kissing Emilia is a courtesy because Iago thinks that Cassio slept with his wife
Iago tells Rodrigo that Desdemona has already been with Cassio. Why is this Ironic? Because Desdemona is still a virgin and because Iago thinks that Cassio and Othello have slept with his wife.
What are the two reasons the people of Cyprus will be celebrating? Because the Turkish army was blown away and due to Desdemona and Othello's wedding.
Who is Montano, and why is it important to this scene? He is the former governor of Cyprus who gave his job to Othello and when he tried to calm down a drunk Cassio, they begin to fight and Cassio stabs him.
