Connotation `Associations and emotional overtones of a word
Coming of age The process of becoming an adult by gaining responsibilities and privileges
Voice A writer's use of language to express his/her ideas and personality
Diction Word choice intended to convey a certain effect
Syntax Sentence structure (short, medium, long, simple, compound, complex)
Imagery Words or phrases used to describe one of the five senses in detail
