Simple Machines

TermDefinition
Inclined plane This simple machine supports the weight of an object that is being moved up.
Wedge This simple machine is an inclined plane that that may be forced into an object.
Screw This simple machine is an inclined plane that ends around a spiral. Propellers are a type of screw.
Wheel and axle This simple machine travel in circles.
Lever This simple machine has a load arm, a force arm and a fulcrum.
Pulley This simple machine has two types: fixed and movable.
