Ch. 2 Adding Prepositions

TermDefinition
Preposition A word that ties or relates a noun or pronoun to another part of the sentence.
Prepositional Phrase A group of words that begin with a proposition and ends with a noun or pronoun.
Object of the Proposition The noun or pronoun that follows the proposition.
Adjective Prepositional Phrase A Prepositional phrase that describes a noun.
Adverb Prepositional Phrase A prepositional phrase that describes a verb.
State-of-being verb A verb that tells that the subject exists, but does not show action.
Common Noun The name of a general type of person, place, or thing.
Proper noun The name of a specific person, place, or thing.
