Chap 1 unit 1 key vocabulary

algebraic expression an expression having one or more numbers and variables along with one or more arithmetic operations
variables symbols used to represent some number or values
term a number, variable, or product or quotient of numbers and variables
factor the quantities( numbers) being multiplied
product the answer in multiplication
power an expression in the form of x^n , read x to the nth power
exponent in an expression written as x^n the exponent is n. It indicates( tells) the number of times x is used as a factor
base in the expression written x^n, the base is x. It is the number that is used as the factor.
