TermDefinition
Synonym A word that has the same or almost the same meaning as another word
Antonym A word that is the opposite to another word
Homonym A word having the same pronunciation as another word but with a different meaning and spelling.
Homograph A word having the same spelling as another word, but a different meaning.
Prefix A syllable placed at the beginning of a word.
Suffix A syllable placed at the end of a word.
Root The main part of a word to which prefixes and suffixes may be added.
Denotation Is a word's actual dictionary definition
Connotation Is the tone of a word. It is the emotions felt when hearing it.
Analogy Is a comparison in which one finds the relationship between two words.
