TermDefinition
product the result or answer you get when two numbers are multiplied together.
factor a whole number that is multiplied with another factor to get a product.
doubling to multiply by 2; twice as much
halving to divide into two equal parts
array a set of objects arranged in equal rows and columns to make courting them easier.
area model a picture that shows the size or area of a figure by multiplying the length x width.
partial product a multiplication strategy that allows you to multiply larger numbers easily by breaking them down into their place value parts.
equation a math statement with an equal sign to show that two expressions are equal
expression a math phrase that uses numbers and/or variables and operations (+, -, x, ÷)
variable a letter or symbol that represents a quantity.
