QuestionAnswer
Question and Answer I ask myself questions while I am reading and I plan on answering the questions with the information that I am reading.
Make, Revise, or Confirm Predictions I make a prediction about what I am reading based on details. If I make a wrong prediction, then I revise it. If I make an accurate prediction, I will confirm it.
Summarize Main Points I understand what I am reading and I am going to write the main points.
Clarify Information I don't understand what I am reading, so I re-read until I do understand, use context clues, or use a dictionary or thesaurus to clarify information.
Pre-Reading Before I start reading, I look at the title, author, pictures, captions, and footnotes and I make a prediction about the genre of the passage and what the passage will be about.
Connect to Self I know what the character is feeling/thinking because I was in the same situation.
