divisor the number to divide by
quotient the number obtained by dividing one number into another; the answer in a division problem
remainder the number left over in a division problem
divisible can be divided without a remainder
factors numbers multiplied to get a product
greatest common factor [GCF] the largest factor that two or more numbers share
multiples possible products of a given number
least common multiple the smallest multiple that two or more numbers share
prime number number with only itself and 1 as factors
composite number number with more than two factors
exponent tells how many times to use a number as a factor
square product of multiplying a number by itself
square root number that was squared
