plot the series of events in the story
conflict a struggle between opposing forces (good vs evil)
resolution part in which all questions are answered, all events fall into place
exposition the beginning of a story. It introduces the characters, setting and central conflict
setting the time and place of the action
author's purpose the author's main reason for writing
imagery words or phrases that appeal to your senses
climax the part in which the plot's suspense reaches its peak. It's the turning point- when events can go well or badly for the character
suspense the anxious curiosity you feel about what happens next.
inference a logical guess that is based on facts
falling action part in which plot winds down, suspense lessens and things fall into place.
characters people, animals, or imaginary creatures in the story
rising action part in which the plot unfolds, compilations arise and suspense builds
summary INCLUDES parts fromt he beginning, middle and end (BME). The main events and details. It LEAVES OUT unimportant information
