| claim | your basic belief |
| counterclaim | a solid and reasonable argument |
| rebuttal | a written or verbal response |
| support | your specific facts or specific evidence |
| refute | argue againist a position or prove it to be wrong |
| qualify | a partly-agree stance in which you agree (in part) with another persons arguement |
| paraphrasing | is writing a sources ideas into writers own words |
| summary | a shortened version of something that has been said |
| evidence | a sign or proof |
| conclusion | a final part of something |
| transition word | linking word or phrase |
| thesis statement | usually appears near the end |
| edit | to prepare a text for publication by correcting errors |
| introduction | a section at the beginning of a book |
| cohesion | joining or working together |
