Forgetting and Memory constraction

| Forgetting | Encoding Failure- we never encode the information. |
| Forgetting Curve | A graph indication the decaying memories. |
| Permastore Memories | Long-term memories that are resistant in forgetting. |
| Retrieval Failure | Accounts for most of our forgetting. The information is encoded and stored but we can't retrieve it. |
| Interference | Retrieval problem when one memory gets in the way of another. |
| Proactive Interference | Older memory disrupts the recall of a newer memory. |
| Retroactive Interference | A recent memory disrupts the recall of an older memory. |
| Motivated Forgetting | Forgetting to protect from anxiety or potential distressing information. |
| Memory Construction | Your brain stores memory in pieces, when you back to get the memory, your brain fills the gaps in the pieces. |
| Misinformation Effect | Incorporating misleading information into a memory. |
| Recovered Memories | Memories that have been buried in the unconscious mind. |
