Variable Letters used to represent an unknown value
Terms A letter, number, or both
Like Terms Two or more terms that have exactly the same variable. The exponents on the variables must be identical as well.
Coefficient The number in front of a variable. The coefficient and the variable are joined by multiplication.
Distribution a(b + c) = ab + ac
