Conservation of Energy The law of physics that states that energy can be changed, but not lost or destroyed.
Force A push or a pull.
Gravity The pull resulting from the mass of the Earth.
Galileo Italian astronomer and physicist who studied and created the term inertia.
Inertia The word used to describe the law of physics that states that a stopped object tends to stay stopped, and a moving object tends to maintain its direction in speed.
Friction The transfer of kinetic energy. from a moving body, to the atoms of matter around it.
Kinetic Energy Energy in motion.
Potential Energy Energy stored by the position of an object.
Mechanics The physics of motion.
Sir Isaac Newton Used the mathematics to develop theories that provide building blocks to understand both physics and astronomy.
Transformation of energy The law of physics that states that energy can be changed from one form to another.
