Quotient When dividing one exponential expression by another with the SAME base, we subtract the exponents (Assuming the bases do not equal 0).
Product When multiplying exponential expressions with the SAME base, we add the exponents.
Power When a power is raised by a power, we multiply the exponents.
Positive Rational Exponents A base is raised to a fractional exponent. The denominator of the exponent becomes the index of the radical expression, and the base is raised to the numerator.
Negative Rational Exponents A base is raised to a fractional exponent. The denominator of the exponent becomes the index of the radical expression, and the base is raised to the numerator. The expression is placed in the denominator.
