This is a review on basic terms students need for the final exam

| Adverb | This is a word that modifies a verb |
| Adjective | This is a word that modifies a noun |
| Verb | An action word |
| Pronoun | Takes the place of a noun |
| Proper noun | A specific person or place, this type gets capitalized |
| Conjunction | And, But, Or, Nor, Neither, Either; these words join clauses of phrases |
| Interjections | words that show emotions |
| Articles | A, an, and the |
| Preposition | a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause, |
| Idiom | a language, dialect, or style of speaking peculiar to a people |
| Euphemism | a mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing. |
| Literal language | language that means exactly what it states |
| Figurative language | language that does not mean what it says |
| Hyperbole | exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally. |
