SpreadSheet A type of software that offers the user a visual display of a simulated multicolumn worksheet and the means of using it especially for financial plans and budgets.
Workbook A workbook is a spreadsheet file.
Worksheet A worksheet or sheet is a single page in a file created with an electronic spreadsheet program such as excel or google spreadsheets.
Workbook Window A window between more than one workbooks. You can switch between workbooks in the middle of your work.
Cell A cell is the intersection point of a vertical column and a horizontal row.
Sheet Tab Shows the name of different worksheets.
Active Sheet Alternatively referred to as a worksheet, a spreadsheet is a data file made up of rows and columns that are used to sort data and allow the user to manipulate and arrange data easily, commonly numerical data.
Workspace A workspace is a grouping of source code files that make up a larger unit, like a web page, website, or software program.
Columns A column is a vertical series of cells in a chart, table, or spreadsheet.
Rows A row is a series of data banks laid out in a horizontal fashion in a table or spreadsheet.
Headings A section of the subject. A division of a topic.
Cell Reference A cell reference or relative cell reference is a cell in a spreadsheet that is a location-based cell reference.
Name Box The name box is the box to the left of the formula bar that displays the cell that is currently selected in the spreadsheet.
Formula Bar Referred to as a formula box, the formula bar is a section in Microsoft excels and other spreadsheet that shows the contents of the current cell and allows you to create and view formulas.
Formula A formula is an expression telling the computer what mathematical operation to perform upon a specific value.
Relative Reference When cells related to other cells such as in terms of formula.
Absolute Reference When cells have an exact same constant in their formula with another cell.
Mixed Reference An absolute column and relative row or absolute row and relative column.
Active Cell A cell pointer or selected cell, an active cell is a rectangular box, highlighting the cell in a spreadsheet.
Enter Data Inputting the formula to define the value of a cell or cells.
Range When referring to a spreadsheet, the range or cell range is a group of cells within a row or column.
Gridlines Faint lines that appear around cells in Excel. They are used to distinguish cells on the worksheet.
