TermDefinition
perimeter The distance around a figure
area The number of square units needed to cover the region
surface area The sum of the areas of all of the faces of a solid figure
line plot A graph using marks along a number line to show how many objects are in a set
protractor A tool used to measure angles
point An exact location in space
vertex The point where two rays or lines meet to form an angle
ray A straight row of points that starts at one point and goes on forever in one direction
angle A geometric shape made by two rays from a common endpoint, called a vertex
right angle An angle that forms a square corner
acute angle An angle that is less than a right angle
obtuse angle An angle that is greater than a right angle
decompose To split up into parts
