3-D Geometry
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Volume | The number of cubic units needed to fill a solid figure |
| Vertex | The point of intersection of two sides of a polygon. |
| Prism | A polyhedron with two congruent and parallel polygon-shaped faces. |
| Net | A plane figure pattern which, when folded, makes a solid. |
| Cylinder | A three-dimensional figure that has two circular bases, which are parallel and congruent. |
| Sphere | A three-dimensional figure such that every point is the same distance form the center. |
| Cone | A three-dimensional figure that has one circular base. The points on this circle are joined to one point outside the base. |
| Edge | The line segment where two faces of a polyhedron meet. |
| Face | A flat surface of a polyhedron. |
| Cubic Unit | A unit measuring volume, consisting of a cube with edges one unit long. |
