| Interpret | to establish or explain the meaning or significance |
| Synthesize | to combine different ideas, influences, or objects into a whole |
| Compare | liken somebody or something to another |

| Connect | to join; to put together or associate |
| Justify | prove; give a reason |
| Central Idea | main part of the story |
| Supporting Detail | facts or elements that support or reinforce |

| Summarize | to give a shortened version of something that has been said or written, stating its main points |
