Drama Literature written for a performance. (play)
Playwright Author of a drama script.
Script The lines and directions written by the playwright.
Dialogue Conversation between two or more people.
Monologue Speech in which a character tells a lot about himself by talking to either himself or the other character.
Act Major portion or segment of the play.
Scene A subdivision of an act; where the action takes place in one stage setting.
Stage directions Direction to the actors written in a script of a play to tell them where to go or how to speak their lines.
Foreshadowing A writers hint and clues about what's going to happen in the story.
Fatalist One who believes that events are determined by fate.

Adolph Hitler Austrian-born leader of the Third Reich. Gained power as Chancellor of Germany in 1933.
Holocaust The extermination of millions of Jews during the 1930's and 1940's.
Gesapo A secret police organization under Hitler; known for their terrorist methods.
Concentration Camp A camp where Jews and others were detained or confined.
Hanukkah An eight-day Jewish holiday celebrating the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem after its destruction.
Resistance An underground organization of a conquered country engaging in secret operations against occupation forces.
Green police The Nazi police who wore green uniforms; known for their brutality.
Ration books Coupon books issued by the government during wartime. People could purchase scarce items such as food and clothing with these coupons.
Black market A system for selling goods illegally, in violation of rationing.
W.C Toilet or water closet.

Menorah A candle holder used for Hanukkah celebrations.
Guilders The basic monetary (money) unit of the Netherlands at that time.
Orthodox Jews who strictly observe Jewish laws and traditions.
SS A unit of Nazis which served as bodyguard to Hitler; later, their duties expanded.
