GEOMETRY- Triangles

Special Segments in Triangles Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
Perpendicular Bisector A line that is perpendicular to a segment at its midpoint.
Angle Bisector A line that divides an angle into two congruent angles.
Median A segment whose endpoints are a vertex of a triangle and the midpoint of the opposite side.
Altitude A perpendicular segment from a vertex to the opposite side (or to the line that contains the opposite side).
Perpendicular Bisector- Point of Concurrency Circumcenter
Angle Bisector- Point of Concurrency Incenter
Median- Point of Concurrency Centroid
Altitude- Point of Concurrency Orthocenter
