Explain skin analysis techniques. Why is skin analysis important? Skin analysis finds out what type of skin the client has. It allow you the to ask and find out what the client's skin needs.
What is contraindication? List five examples. Contraindication requires avoiding certain treatments. Five examples ar: allergies, prescription drugs, certain exfoliants and thinning skin.
Why is it important to have every client complete a health screening form? To see whether the client has any contraindicates that might not allow certain skin treatments.
Describe the differences between alipidic and oily skin. Alipidic skin is dry, oily skin is oily.
What is the difference between skin type and skin condition? Skin type describes the characteristics of a client's skin. Skin conditions are condition of the skin that may occur due to skin type
Name and explain the different categories of skin care products. Cleansing milks cleanse dry&sensitive skin types. Foaming cleansers clean the skin. Toners rebalance the pH and remove remnants of cleanser from skin. Exfoliants remove dead cells from skin surface.
What are the steps to completing a client consultation A complete health screening form. Analyze skin, recommend services and products.
Why is massage used during a facial For circulation, to promote absorption, and to relieve pain
Name and briefly describe the five categories of massage manipulations. Effleurage is a continuous movement. Petrissage is a kneading, lifting, squeezing and pressing the tissue with firm pressure. Friction is a deep rubbing movement, Tapotement is quick tapping movements. Vibration is the shaking of the body parts.
Name and describe two types of electrical machines used in facial treatments and why these machines add value to a facial. Galvanic machines & brushing machines. Brushing machines exfoliate skin. Galvanic machines soften and emulsify sebum stuck in the hair follicles.
Who is not a good candidate for electrical current treatment? Why? Pregnant people, epilepics, insufficient nerve sensibility, open or broken skin, fear of electrical current, or with metal implants or pace makers
How can aromatherapy be used in the basic facial? to benefit and enhance a persons physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual self.
