| phoneme | (n) one speech sound (for example the "t" in bat) |
| phonics | (n) the relationship between letters and sounds they make |
| phonograph | (n) a machine for reproducing the sounds recorded on record players |
| symphonic | (adj.) relating to or characteristic of the sounds of a symphony |
| telephone | (n) an electronic apparatus used to transmit sounds over a distance without distortion |
