How can you vary your sentences to avoid boring your reader?

| Coordinating Conjunction | CC or FANBOYS -- This word must be paired with a comma in a compound sentence. |
| DC | Dependent Clause |
| SC | Subordinating Conjunction - These words are used in a complex sentence. It is paired with an IC to create a DC that gives more information for the IC in the sentence. |
| Complex Sentence | DC (SC + IC) + comma + IC |
| Subordinating Clause | This type of clause consists of a subordinating conjunction and an IC, turning the IC into a DC. |
| Subordinating Conjunction | This word is used to combine two simple sentences into a complex sentence. |
| Compound Subject | A sentence has two or more subjects included. |
| Compound Predicate | A sentence has two or more verbs included. |
| Compound Sentence | The krill are swimming to the surface, and the whales are anxiously waiting to have dinner. |
| Complex Sentence | Because the whales scared up the krill, the fish are quickly swimming to the surface. |
