Types of verbs vocab

match the verb with its definition/description

QuestionAnswer
work with another verb to show time helping verb (example: was: He was jumping on the bed yesterday)
word that connects the subject to another word and provides more information about the subject linking verb (was: He was nice. is: She is beautiful. tastes:The pizza tastes delicious)
a word that tells what the subject is doing action verb (run, eat, slide, throw)
He KICKED the ball. action
She WAS angry. linking
He ATE the cake. action
She WAS singing in the car. helping (shows past tense:main verb is singing)
The ice cream WILL melt. helping (shows future:main verb is melt)
We WERE happy to see the police. linking
