Poetry Terms

TermDefinition
Rhyme Scene The way each line of the poem ends and rhymes with the other lines.
Stanza A "poetry paragraph". A group of lines in a poem. Separated by blank spaces
Repitation A writing technique used in wich a word or phrase is is repeted for emphisses
Couplet A poem that has 2 rhyming lines with same # of syllibles
Lyric A poem when a speaker shows personal thoughts and feelings on a subject
Narrative A poem that tells a story
Free Verse Poetry that doesn't rhyme or doesn't have a set rhythm
