What part of the rock cycle helps to form igneous rocks, but not other types of rocks? Cooling
What part of the rock helps form sedimentary rock, but not other types of rocks? It would be compacting and cementing, then weathering and erosion
If two tectonic plates are moving away from each other what is formed? Rift Zones
How does acid rain effect different types of rock and why? It depends on their composition
What is the name of the process when tectonic plate collide and push areas of Earth's crust to higher elevation? It would be uplift.
When the repeating cycles of heating and cooling cause a rock to crank and then the rock breaks into smaller pieces - what is the process called? It would be weathering.
How does sedimentary rock most likely form? Compacting and cementing
Give the steps that show how a metamorphic rock can change into a sedimentary rock? It will get weathered, then it will melt, then cooling, then compacting and cementing.
If you saw a rock that was hard and it had layers, what kind of rock would it be? Metamorphic.
When magma turns into igneous rock what change of state has took place? The process of cooling.
What would give you the best clue to your answer the layers or the fact that the rock was hard? A liquid to solid.
