TermDefinition
Atom the smallest particle in an element.
Compound substances made of two or more elements that can't be separated by physical means.
Elements substances that contain only one kind of matter.
Heterogeneous Mixture a mixture in which every sample taken has the same composition.
Homogeneous Mixture a mixture in which every sample taken doesn't have the same composition.
Law of conservation of mass states that matter can't be created, destroyed, or changed no matter what you do.
Matter anything that has mass and takes up space.
Mixtures a substance that contains more than one kind of matter.
Molecule the smallest particle of a compound.
Substance a mixture that can't be separated into different kinds of matter by physical means.
