associative property The order of the operations can be changed or regrouped so long as the numbers are not changed.
Histogram Graph that used vertical columns to show frequencies
Parabola The set of points in a plane that are equidistant from a fixed line and a fixed point in the same plane or in a parallel plane
Intercept The distance from the origin to the point at which a curve or line intersects an axis
error analysis critical thinking about a math problem
tangent for a right triangle, the ___ of an acute angle is the ratio of the length of the sides opposite to the length of the side adjacent
hypotenuse the side of a right triangle that is opposite the right angle
commutative property changing the order of the numbers does not change the end result
congruent figures same size and shape
radicals quantity expressed as a root of another quantity
coefficient a numbers placed before and multiplying another quantity, as 3 in the expression 3X
simplify to reduce to lowest terms
quotient answer to a division problem
variable a letter used to represent one or more numbers
equation a mathematical sentence
