Math Vocab~ Unit 5a

WordDefinition
Equation An equation says that two things are equal. It will have an equals sign "=" like this.
Equals Sign Shows that what is on the left of the sign is equal in value or amount to what is on the right of the sign
Solve Find all solutions to an equation, inequality, or a system of equations and/or inequalities.
Solution A value we can put in place of a variable (such as x) that makes the equation true.
Inverse operations The operation that reverses the effect of another operation.
Subtraction Property of Equality States that when both sides of an equation have the same number subtracted from them, the remaining expressions are still equal
